Press Release.1
Barramundi Australia was started in early 2000 and was built to supply a niche seafood export market which included Singapore, South Korea, Japan and Canada.
It was our original goal to expand to the largest Indoor Aquaculture facility and together with the acquisition of a feed company we would be highly competitive and extremely profitable.
Due to a number of factors including the rezoning of our land and an opportunity to own an Aquatic feed business within Australia and New Zealand, Barramundi Australia as of the end of the the year will cease to trade under that name. Instead Grobest Australia will run out of our newly acquired feed depot at 20 Horizon Drive, Beenleigh.
The Grobest Group Pty Ltd has beeen supplying Aquatic feed in Australia since 1974 and Grobest Australia will continue to build on the reputation as the Industry leader in supplying the highest quality grade aquatic feed in Australia.

Press release 3
MELAMINE CONTAMINATON SCARE.
Unless you have been without communication for the past 3 weeks, you would have probably heard of the contamination scare sweeping the globe with the pace of a Trojan virus through the internet. Melamine is a chemical used in plastics and fertilizers and is added to inflate the true value of the products nitrogen levels, making the protein level seem much higher than they really are. This of course inflates the price of the product.
Initially it was thought contaminated ingredients from China only affected pet food from tainted wheat gluten and rice protein imported into the United States for use in pet and animal feeds. According to the FDA, two companies, Binzhou Futian Technology Co. and Xuzhou Anying Biologic Technology were illegally adding Melamine into “wheat flour” to boost its levels of protein in its products. They were then mislabeling goods as “wheat gluten” and “exports not subject to inspection” in a bid to avoid the FDA, importers and the pet food makers from detecting the high levels of melamine. Typical tests for things such as mold toxins, protein and ash would not uncover the chemical. U.S. importer ChemNutra co-brokered a shipment to Skettings in Vancouver, Canada, where it was used to manufacture feed for salmon, trout and steelhead. Although some affected feed has been fed to the fish, the human risk is very low considering the fish are still at least 18 months away from saleable size. GROBEST would like to advise that no products from the companies involved with the contamination from China were used in our fish or prawn feeds.
Our factories worldwide has quality control and testing systems in place including HACCP and ISO certification. Samples are taken routinely and kept for 6 months for traceability purposes. In the event of a contamination, these samples can be re-tested and batches recalled if need be. Our mill in Jakarta has guaranteed our feed contains only natural products and safe from any contamination. Grobest Australia will be provided with a food safety certificate from an independent authorized institute which will be posted on our web site when made available.
